I was getting a oil change on my 2006 Corolla at Maita Toyota and I decided to walk around and look at other cars on the lot. Bad mistake. I wound up on Maita Hyundais lot. I was greeted by a young good looking guy with a limp. His name was Josh. And he was kind of sad, but sweet.
I told him I was just there to get an oil change on my new car. He said ok and just started walking around with me. Thats when I saw a truck. I told him that my 3 year old boy would love it if I brought home a truck. So he asked me if I wanted to write down some numbers and talk about trading the vehicles.
I thought maybe that I could do an even trade. As the Corolla was a 2006 and the Nissan was an 2004. So we started negotiating. Then he had me meet with "the closer"... This guy was a real piece of work. He practically cried while we were negotiating a price.
Long story short... They only gave me 11,000 for a trade in on my brand new paid off 15,000 06 Corolla with rims, alarm and DVD. And I owe 9,500 on a truck worth oooo. About 13,000. I thought the truck was worth at least 20k seeing they had a sticker price on it for more than 22k.
So after going to KBB and finding out the actual worth of the truck I spent about 3 weeks crying about the horrible mistake I made. I called the dealership and explained to them that I could have gotten a brand new truck for what they charged me. The manager basically said there was nothing he could do. I pictured these horrible men laughing their asses of at what a sucker I am and rolling in the extra money they made from me.
Please dont give these guys your business. They are rip-off masters! They ganged up on me and I felt trapped. I hope someone one day does this to their daughter, mother or sister.
