In February I was rear-ended by Ms. *, a GEICO customer in Washington, DC. She scared me into not calling the police by threatening and harrassing me, saying that her husband would kill her and come after me. She continued to harrass me by calling me at work after the accident, and by calling my house at 6 AM the next morning. When I told her to stop calling me, she said she would claim I was at fault.
I called GEICO and reported this. She lied and said that I backed into her, and GEICO denied my claim. I sent to GEICO a written transcript of my dealings with Ms. *, pictures from the accident, and my insurance company's statement about the accident.
GEICO ignored my follow-up, and a letter to their Fraud Special Investigative Unit went unanswered. I also filed a complaint with the DC Insurance Fraud Investigation Unit.
It's no wonder that GEICO claims such high customer satisfaction ratings. It's easy to be number one in the DC area when it's insured customers know that they can harrass and threaten other drivers into not filing a police report, and then lie about the accident.
