In I tried to switch insurance companies, but Geico lied and told other insurance companies that I had an at fault accident with a $30,000 pay out, so no other company would pick me up, but that accident is false. It did not happen.
Recently, Geico is refusing to pay for my Claim after my car was vandalized, and the vandalism is being looked into by the police because it is part of another case. Nonetheless, when I called Geico about my claim, I was told by agent Neila Haun that Geico called the police on me. I have no idea why?
First of all, I did not damage my own car, and I did not want to do business with Geico, but I was stuck because they lied to other insurance companies and no one wanted to pick me up. I also asked Geico to suspend my policy, as it makes no sense to keep paying insurance on a car that is not safe to drive.
Geico told me that I had to go down to DMW and put a non operation in before they would suspend my policy. After I finished all of my paperwork and sent it to Geico like they requested, Geico canceled my policy. They could have told me that they were going to do that before I went to the DMW and got the paper work done.
When I contacted Geico about them illegally canceling my policy, they lied and said that I had asked them to. Then when I told them to prove it, they send me documents from 2006 when I had tried to switch insurance companies.
So now, I have been without my car for four months, and I have to get a lawyer and sue Geico so I can get my car repaired. This is totally unfair for me because I have now lost my job and had to drop out of college, as I have no way to get to school or work.
Doing business with Geico has cost me a lot of time, money, and energy. It was not worth it. Geico has high rates and is known for being a horrible insurance provider. I hope that they get what is coming to them.
