Triad repossessed a vehicle in after arrangements and a payment was made. Subesequently, the vehicle was sold. I was informed that a balance of approximately $6000 was owed. I never received any paperwork from Triad informing me of how much the vehicle sold for and if the amount was subtracted from the balance I owed. An unethical attorney, along with Triad sought and received a judgment against me for $19,000. My wages were garnished and I did not have the resources to stop them. (I contacted an attorney who wanted a $3000 retainer just to file a claim of exemption.)
To date they have taken several thousand dollars from me and will continue until the amount reaches $19,000 even though when I call Triad I'm told that I have a $0 balance. They are unwilling to put anything in writing or to send me the information I request in regards to payment history, what the car sold for, balance owed, etc. This is my horror story and, so do not let it come to this. Contact an attorney! Do what you must to fight them early and have a professional read any legal papers from them.in short, They are scam aritst. Do not do business with Triad Financial. After finding this site and reading your stories, I don't feel alone anymore. And, I am very determined to do what should have been done a long time ago.
Now, the the bright side to the story. I am older, a whole lot wiser, and am now financially able and ready to fight back. I recommend that you ALL file a complaint with your State Attorney General.By doing this, it will certainly get the ball rolling for a much deserved class action suit against Triad. I spoke with a friend who works for the AG's office in CA and let's just say that it will be in your best interest to start writing those complaints NOW (no matter what state you live in.) These people have no idea what's about to hit them. I've been very courteous each time I've contacted them recently and each time I'm given the 'ole okey doke... Transferred from dept. To dept., instead of them sending me the information that I clearly have a right too. Triads' refusal to give me basic information that I have a legal right to, is just compounding the stress and anxiety that I'm dealing with in association to this case. Again, file a complaint with your state AG's office. And, the best of luck to you all. Let's keep each other posted.
