Had a bad time with Triad for my auto loan, i had filled chapter 13 back in 02, and pulled myself out in 04. I notified Triad of what i was doing and wanted to set up a payment plan to keep my car. After many times of trying to contact this company they got back to me by sending a notice and repoing the car the very next day. This drove the account to a figure that was more than the car was puchased for 4 years earlier. The repo happened in 05, in 06 I recievied a letter of intent to sue me for the differance of what they sold the car for 1,300.00 and what they claimed i owed, another 8400.00. I went to a attorney and he worked with them to pay 4,500.00 to close out the account.in 06 we recieved a 1099 form from Triad for us to file with my income tax that stated that they forgave us for the balance. Now mind you they had already over in flated the amount much to thier favor.
So according to them we owed $8,400.00 they sold the car for $1,300.00 leaving a balance of $7,100.00. My attorney at the time worked the deal of $4,500.00 leaving a balance of $2,600.00 that they FORGAVE us forwith a 1099 that we paid taxes on in 06.
So the big question is how come they just sent me another 1099 form for this years taxes and again it's for $2600.00. They can go you no where if they think i'll pay taxes on this again. If i can't straighten this out tomorrow, put me on that class action law suit also.
P.S. I found out that if you call from a number and they don't want to talk to you, i believe they block that number. If you can't get through try calling from a different number. What a shock! And do not plug in any info, that to puts you in a different never get in touch with mode.
