On 3/21/05, I had my vehicle towed to a repair shop, after it suddenly stopped running. They fixed what they thought was the problem, a shredded timing belt. Well, this did not resolve the problem. The vehicle still would not start. So they inspected the spark plugs and found, and I quote all spark plugs (front) loose and very fouled out.in addition they stated that they had not been changed. Well, this was not true.
On Jan. 8, I took my vehicle to Precision Tune for an Lube, Oil, and Filter change and a tune-up. When I arrive at the location, I noticed a sign that stated Winter special for $99.98. I inquired about it and was told by the manager, at the time; they have since fired the old manager and hired a new manager, that it would be and additional $60 bringing the total to $159.99, before taxes, for the service because my vehicle is a 94 grand prix with a 3.4L Engine. I gave the ok.
I had no reason to believe that the work was not done. So, I returned to Precision tune on 3/26 and informed them of what I had learned and gave, Michael (I believe this is the name of the new Manager) all the paperwork, he stated that he would need to get it over to the owner and the owner, Curtis Atwood, would call me on Monday, he didn't. I contacted the business on Today, Tuesday 3/29, and was told that I would only receive $69.99, the cost of the tune up, so what they are telling is that the Lube, Oil, and Filter, the tire rotation, fluid flush, battery test, and brake inspection come to about $90. This is bogus.
I called 2 other stores and was told that a tune up for my car would cost $119 before.in addition, I know that a different shop, not part of precision tune, charges $176 for my vehicle. So, I went in to the location and spoke with the Manager, explaining that I paid $159.99 for this service and believe that after deducting the non Tune-up related items, I should be compensated fairly. He insisted that this was all the owner was offering me, I refuse to accept this and feel that they are trying to rip me off yet again.
I just want some fair recourse. They have also lied to the BBB about the circumstances surrounded my complaint.
