High pressure sales - claimed that my rate would increase if I didn't pay today. Ripoff!

I was interested in an extended warranty for my car. They
keep you on the phone forever and then try to make you aprove and pay an initial fee for a warranty you've never seen— claiming that their "system" will charge me more if I don't sign up today, and that I would be a repeat customer (not a new customer) and therefor unable to get their best rate... Sorry I don't buy it.

Good business doesn't happen like this. I thought it might be a phishing scam, but kind of doubt it. The sales person said they got paid by the hour so I let him wait on hold a good long time. He was very polite.
