I wish I had seen this website before we purchased our extended warranty with CONTINENTAL WARRANTY.in October of 2006 we purchased an extended warranty for our Cadillac Escalade.in January of 2007 the transmission went out. I wasn't panicking because I knew we had an extended warranty (WHAT A BIG MISTAKE)!!
We filed a claim and they sent an inspector out to take a look at the transmission. OF COURSE, we were soon DENIED OUR CLAIM because the inspector said our vehicle was modified. I told him that it was bought that way from the dealership. He said that the oversized tires had caused the transmission to break? According to the Head Mechanic at the dealership, he said it was RIDICULOUS!
When we purchased the extended warranty we were told that someone would come out to inspect our vehicle to make sure it fell under all of THEIR guidelines (no one came to inspect it). The reason they turned the claim down was because at the time we had only paid approximately $600.00 into the extended warranty when something happened to our vehicle and the cost to repair it was $3800.00.
OBVIOUSLY, CONTINENTAL WARRANTY felt that to cut their losses they would VOID our extended warranty on the grounds that our vehicle was modified and refund our $600.00. It was their responsibility to send someone out to make sure our vehicle was covered! DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THIS CONTINENTAL WARRANTY!
We were told that we would receive our refund check by 1/31/07. DO YOU THINK WE GOT IT YET??? OF COURSE NOT! I was on hold EXACTLY 57 minutes before I spoke with someone, who now stated that our check was being sent on 2/6/07!!! I'LL BELIEVE IT WHEN I SEE IT!
One last item... Trying to speak to someone in customer service will take approximately one hour on HOLD. From now on I will check usacomplaints.com before I do business with any company!
