I took my 07 Toyota yaris to firestone complete auto care for a battery replacement in 01/13.
I paid my fees and they installed a battery but at the end of 02/13 my car didn't start one day and i had to do a jump start! That was unacceptable because i had a new battery! In 03/13 i took my car back to firestone and they told me that everything was fine! The terminals were dirty and all they had to do was just cleaned it. The invoice said ' Alternator tested fine and the starter also tesed fine'. After one months the battery light came on while i was driving and it stayed on for two days! Itook my car back to Firestone, after two hours they told me that i need to replace my alternator! I told the guy that before i brought my car for them in the beginning, My car was inspected by tireplus in minneapolis and they told my car was in good condition. All i neede was to replace the battery and my breaks need to repalced! I also told the service rep. That firestone themselves told me my alternator was fine! I called firestone head office and i had a reginal manager called me he was nice and told me that he will only charge me the part and i don't have to pay labour fees. I also took my car for asecond opinion and i took to toyota dealer. They told me i need a new battery to begin with! I took the battery back to an other firestone in brookly park in MN, The service was really unprofessional! I told him that i have five year warrenty and i need a new one. This is where scam started coming out. I had a different battery in my car than the one i was returning and to make it worse the battery i returned was marked 03/13! I never told that my battery was replaced on 03/1.3 The invoice on march states that firestone only cleane the terminals! The service said that i was scumming them! After calling the manager of the store that i bought the battery, the service guy replaced the battrey. My conclusion is that, Originally the tech guy installed a defective battery and when i came back in 03/13, My car was checked by the same tech guy, he realized he his mistak. To cover up his mistake he installed a new battery and he never indicated that in the invoice! Litle did he knew already my alternator was already damaged! My car was fixed by Toyota dealer and i will never go back to firestone! My advice is to everyone, if firestone repalces battery, make sure you check the battery they installed nad what your invoice states!
