Sold a "lemon" as a great reliable car by dishonest, disorganized and disloyal dealership owners Ripoff

I bought a 1999 infinity I30 from Legacy Automotive. I was told that it was a "dependable reliable car, and at 85,000 miles it was just broken in." Before I bought the car I thought I heard an unusual sound, when my boyfriend and I pointed it out we were reassured by Adam Zinc (owner) that everything was checked out by their mechanic and everything was fine.

Two weeks after owning my car the "Service Engine Soon" light came on. My boyfriend took my car back in to the dealership and had their mechanic look it over again. This time they found some problems. The knock sensors needed replaced, and the air conditioner needed fixed. Legacy said they would pay for the labor if we paid for the parts. I felt since I had only owned the car two weeks, Legacy should take of the costs and repair it to the condition I thought I was buying it in. The owner said he would talk to his brother Andy (co-owner) about it and call me back.

He never called me back. Not only did he not call me back, but over two months time he did not return any of my phone calls. My boyfriend got so upset that these guys were blowing me off that he finally just took my car back to their lot. Adam told me that he had never gotton any of my messages and they had actually fired the girl that was doing all of their clerical work b/c of disorganization and miscommunication. Not only that but they also fired their mechanic b/c everybody was bringing their cars back with problems.

They had their new mechanic look at my car and he said that not only did the knock sensors need replaced, but the timing chain needed replaced (the noise I heard earlier), and the transmission was having problems-they thought if they did a transmission flush and changed the filter it would be fine. I dropped my car off on a Thursday and was told it would be done on Monday.

It wasn't. Not only was it done done by Monday -but they had my car for SIX WEEKS! During this six weeks we were promised NUMEROUS times-almost daily-that it would be done the next day. Every time we went to pick it up they gave some excuse about why it wasn't done or on two occasions we had made appointments to pick up my car at a certain time and when we got there no one was there-even during business hours! Not to mention we had to put down a $500.00 deposit for them to even work on it. (Obviously they wern't going to take care off the cost even though it was their shady mechanic that didn't diagnose it correctly the first time.) After six weeks of daily checking up on my car and getting the run around we were told to come pick it up. They told us everything was replaced, but the transmission still needed work-they weren't going to even look into it.

On they way home my car was shifting like a jackrabbit, the engine was smoking, and my service engine light came on-again. My boyfriend told me to take his car to work and he would take my car to his work. On the way home from work my car died. Electric went out, engine smoking. After trying to jump it numerious times we had to have it towed to the nearest bodyshop.

Unless you want a five month run around and a crappy car, DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM LEGACY AUTOMOTIVE! The owners are dishonest, narrow minded, and do not stand behind their word or their business. They have an excuse for everything and have horrible customer service.
