Consumer Report

My name is Valerie Cox, I purchased/financed a vehicle from the above company, within the first three months the check engine light came on requesting that I service the engine, I call the dealership, they explained to me that it was the Gas cap not being put on properly or tight enough, I bought the vehicle in they turned the check engine light off and told me to keep an eye on putting the cap on tighter. Three months later again the same exact occurence appeared, I called the dealership and the story I got this time was from Jerri one of the owners, he preceeded to ask me if I had just put gas in the vehicle, I told him yes and he said to me that this is what sometimes happens to older model vehicles, I took the car back to the dealership, they again turned the engine light off and and said that the vehicle was good. Now we are approaching nine months later, which is well into my warrenty running out and the exact same problem has occured with now even more issues the vehicle jumped into another gear while I was driving it, it was now in drive and neutral at the same time. I had to have the vehicle towed to the nearest mechanic in town, which I was told to do upon purchasing the vehicle, being that the dealership is too far out by Ray another owner. The mechanic told me that it was my transmission that was blow, he also asked me if I had had any warnings letting me know something was wrong, because before a transmission get blown out the way my was, there should have been some warings, light my engine light should have came on to alert me. I explained to the mechanic what the dealership had been doing and telling me, he told me to have the dealership pick this vehicle up because not only was the transmission blown, but it had been worked on before and had not been properly put back togeter. The dealership said that they would pick my car up on a Friday from the mechanic, they did not pick it up until that monday which in terms left me with a $300.00 storage fee. On that Monday before anything was done to my car, I spoke with Dan and explained to him that I should not be responsible for any charges in relations to this vehicle being fixed because this was an on-going problem that has now ended up to this and that if they would have fixed the problem from the beginning while my warrenty was still in existing instead of telling me it was my gas cap we would not be here at this place. Dan told me that he would tack the cost onto my ending balance of my total vehicle price, but when I went to pick the vehicle up, Dan told me that I had to make arragements to show in good faith that I was going to pay the cost of the fixing of the vehicle, I explained to Dan that he told me something entirely different on the phone, he started saying that well the dealership and the automotive department are two different departments and I am new to this dealership and I really dont know how they do things around here, I said to him, Dan you were the one who told me about the price being added to my ending price. After picking the vehicle up on last Thursday, the engine light has now come back on, I cannot drive the car unless someone gives me a jump and once I turn the car off it will not start without another jump. I am paying $400.00 a month for a vehicle that I am no able to drive, please could someone look into this issue for me, I believe that I was sold a lemon and the dealership is telling me that I have to us my own way of getting the car to them to be fixed and that I will have to pay more money to get it fixed and for the towing. Thank you so very much.
