Pizza Hut is a vast corporation. I expect them to act professionally and to treat their employees with minimal dignity. That means the higher ups should not lie to cover their a*es.
We came to New Orleans under the assumption that my husband would have the position he was hired for. He interviewed and they told him he would, at the very least, have an assistant manager position immediately. They told him a couple of weeks later that he would have the GM position and get to take over the store. He spent hours on the online manager training while being undertrained by the incompetent staff who were persistently on their cell phones at work, flirting with one another, and giving the wrong change. One girl's drawer came up 200$ short.
As soon as he was given the power to lead, the store's numbers turned around, the drawers came up even, and all the prep was done for the next shift. Customer satisfaction had turned around in just a month.
Yesterday, he came home after a managerial meeting where they informed him he was not even going to get the assistant manager position and that his hours were going to be cut in half after they sang his praises in every meeting and promised him a managerial position.
I assume it's store politics. He made all the other managers look bad when he made people do their jobs. Either way, we should not have been lied to. We won't be able to pay our bills or make our rent because we were lied to. This is poor leadership and poor business practice. Needless to say, he has put his application in where the corporation actually cares about not only having a good product, but good stores with excellent customer service too.
