My boyfriend and I recently had dinner at the Longhorn Steakhouse here in MA. It took the waiter over 15 minutes to come to our table... So long that I was sure the hostess had forgotten to inform the waiter of our table. However when the waitress finally did arrive, we noticed that it was the same lady who had walked past our table several times before and was serving the surrounding tables.
Putting the waiting factor aside, when this young lady did acknowledged us, she appeared impatient and walked away as I was finishing up my drink order. My strawberry ice limeaede came out warm (??) and when we asked for ice, she brought the cup back with the limeade dripping down the cup's side and walked away... It was prompt and rude.
We ordered two steak's; one porterhouse and one rib eye both MEDIUM RARE. MY boyfriend's porterhouse was EXTREMELY salty but we dealt with that. My rib eye however came out medium WELL, dry and plastic tasting. I asked the waiter if I had ordered my steak Medium-RARE (perhaps i had made the mistake?) and she said yes I had and that she would have the cook remake it. She pulled the plate away so promptly that my fork and knife fell to the table and she continued walking away. I WAS SO TAKEN ABACK with her behavior and the attention it attracted with our neighbor tables. Additionally, my steak did not arrive "quickly" as the manager had come by to suggest but rather AFTER my boyfriend had finished his dinner and we sat waiting for almost a FULL HALF HOUR. I had my dinner packed to go as I was left without an appetite anymore. My steak dinner turned into a plate of veggies (one of the sides i had ordered that came on a separate plate) and the waiter (who continued to walk by and not acknowledge us as she served the table before and next to ours) did not apologize or mention anything about how long the food was taking. We paid the bill (rib-eye dinner that i did not eat included), tipped her and left with one of our worse restaurant experiences ever.
I have been to Longhorn Steakhouse several times before and had pleasant experiences. However after this experience, I believe I will find a new place to enjoy a steak dinner.
