What a nightmare!!! They hardly cover anything and they take their own sweet time responding! They charged 2 service calls for 2 plumbing issues that were done in 1 service call…and they didn’t want to cover stuff. We have had several issues. We’ve been told they won’t cover something—“it’s in the contract”—but when asked to highlight and fax that part, they refuse.
They sent a contractor that put the wrong parts in an air conditioner in an Arizona rental—that ended up FLYING off and wrecking the unit (a $2000 repair). We called on a Thursday and while they were taking their time getting back to us, we got a 2nd opinion. That’s when we found out what happened. When we told them and sent paperwork from our guy, they said they would sent their same contractor out to fix it. We said he could see it, but he’s not touching our unit again.in the meantime, our guy fixed it by the next day—and we didn’t hear from Colonial again until Tuesday the following week (when my husband called them to make sure they got our paperwork for reimbursement—which we’re not holding our breath for, but we’re seriously considering taking legal action). Seriously, Arizona in the summer—and this isn’t a priority???
The sales team will make you feel like you are in good hands and you will be taken care of…DON”T FALL FOR IT! They must spend all their money in sales—and probably a legal team—conning people out of their money while protecting themselves in the mean time. I don’t know how they can live with themselves. When we first had trouble, we thought of cancelling the contract and refunding the difference only to be told they would be holding back $100 (and later, after another problem, they said there was no money to be refunded—we bought the policy in Nov. Or Dec. And this was May or June).
Save your time, money, and sanity…save the money and make the repairs yourself…DON”T get screwed like we did.
