We thought we were in "Good Hands" until we filed a claim. Florida Peninsula is a rip-off. We had a pipe leak and the damage was around $6K. It took 4 days for them to send out an independent appraiser. Nobody in Customer Service at the 800# number would give me any information on the processing (lack of progress) of the claim. Everything was in the hands of the appraiser. The appraiser said that everything should be covered so we waited 3 weeks for the verdict.in the mean time mold was growing in the kitchen cabinets and we had to burn scented candles to keep down the smell. We had the leak repaired repaired. At the same time we were urged to hire a recommended company to sanitize the kitchen area at our expense. After 3 weeks they denied the
Claim totally in a letter. The primary reason for denial was that we waited too long to report the damage. That was a total fabrication because we reported the claim as soon as water appeared. Afterall, who in their right mind is not going to report a kitchen full of water. We have a 3 year old son, don't let this happen to your family. Florida is trying to limit their liability with Citizens Ins Co.By driving some of the business to smaller companies like FPC. They will gladly take your money but if you have a claim you could be forced to hire an attorney to collect anything.
