Not having enough money in my bank account to cover a debit by PayPal, they continued to debit my account even though I requested they stop for a few days until my account had enough money to cover the Unreasonable repeated debiting of my bank account

I attempted to use PayPal to pay for an item I bid on at eBay. Unfortunately, I didn't have enough money in the account to cover the debit. I was charged a fee by my bank for trying to debit my account when I didn't have enough funds in the account to cover the debit. I realize this part is my fault.

PayPal informed me that my account would be automatically debited in a few days. I called customer service to request they delay debiting my account until I could get enough money into it to cover the debit. I was told this couldn't be done. The result was two more automatic attempts to debit the account along with the fees for the failed attempts. The fees now added up to more that I owed PayPal and it appeared the automatic debits would continue until I had enough money in the account to cover the debit.

To stop the accumulation of fees, I had to close my account to PayPal and have refused to pay them since I believe their behavior was unreasonable in not discontinuing the debits until I could cover what I owed. The result of this is that I can no longer buy anything at eBay since virtually all sellers use PayPal and only PayPal to receive payments. This also holds for other sites on the Internet that only accept PayPal. This, I believe, is wrong as it gives PayPal to much control over what I would like to buy on the Internet.
