Automatic Payment on Paid eBay Bill Caused Repeated Overdrafts

I was set up to pay my eBay account with my PayPal account, but since I did not have any money in my PayPal account, I paid my eBay bill with a different credit card. Two days later, PayPal went to pay my eBay bill (which I had already paid). Like I said, I had no money in my PayPal, so PayPal went to my bank for the money. We are talking about a little over $3.00. I only had $1.47 in my bank account, so PayPal caused me to have an overdraft. They have done this 3 times so far, and each time it puts me $35.00 further into the hole.

I called PayPal to have them stop this. They said that it was automatic and they cannot stop it. They told me that even though I paid eBay a different way, they will still continue to go for the money out of my account. They paid eBay the $3.56, which gave me a credit with eBay, but made me in the hole with PayPal in the amount of $2.11. Because of $2.11, I am overdrawn in my bank by $103. I have called PayPal several times, and they will not stop charging my bank. I had to put a stop payment through my bank, but I will still be charged $28.00 each time PayPal goes for the $2.11.

How do I stop PayPal? Please, if you are planning on using PayPal, rethink it. They are rip-offs of the worst kind. Because of them, I will not be able to go back to school this fall. I will be several hundred dollars overdrawn by then. Stay away from PayPal!!!
