On June 6th, we paid our bill of $281 (plus change). When we got the bill for July, the payment was showing past due. I called and they said payment was not received, so I checked the AP on the computer and found it was paid 6/6.
We contacted our bank and they showed the check cleared 6/11. We sent them a copy of the front and back of the check, and as of 8/2/04, the payment has still not been posted and they put a hold on our account. I contacted Wal-mart customer service and they said there were notes on our account stating they had a copy of the check, but that it could take up to 60 days to investigate.
My question is, Investigate what?!!!
We have proven the payment was made and they need to process the payment to our account... Then they can take years to find out what THEY did wrong. We should not be punished for their mistake!!! How embarrassing can it be to take a credit card to the Wal-mart (we are a church) and have the card declined. We have a $7000 plus credit limit and we are current except for the payment THEY MISAPPLIED. How fair is that?
