I opened my account approximately 3 1/2 years ago. I have never been late or over the limit. I mostly used the card to pay bills every month. I had the account opened, trying to rebuild my credit.
On or around May 20, I made a $100 payment through the mail, by check for a payment due on May 28. On June 11, I received a call from Tribute to let me know that they never received a payment. I contacted my bank and the check never went through.
I made another payment of $100.
Today, July 21, I received my July bill. On the statement, it shows a $0.00 line of credit.
I called Tribute to find out why, the lady tells me that my account was closed. When they did not receive my May payment, I was charged a $35 late fee and it caused me to be $33 over the limit, so then they also charged me a $35 over limit fee. Then they closed my account.
The lady told me that they would credit me the $35 late fee.
They are also charging me a $10 monthly maintenance fee.
They are a joke and a rip off.
