When I opened my checking and savings accounts with Bank of America there were no monthly fees. One day they started taking fees out of my checking account without notice (they probably did send something in the mail... But who reads those?). I called, and they returned four months of fees to me. I was told that if I started using Direct Deposit for my payroll checks they would not take fees from any of my accounts — so I enrolled in Direct Deposit. I went online today and noticed my Savings Account looked low — they started taking monthly fees out several months ago, even though I had Direct Deposit!!! I am now in the process of trying to get my money back. Word to the wise — always always always check your statements each and every month or Bank of America will rob you blind!
