I put my lasik surgery on a CareCredit card and was so pleased to hear they offered a 2 year, no interest way to pay off the balance. I made my first month payment, no problem. Then the next bill I got had a "change in terms and conditions" sheet in the back. The sheet casually says that CareCredit will no longer be honoring "promotional purchases", I will have to pay interest on the balance regardless of the agreement. There is a number to call and their 2 "options" are to cancel your account (assuming they send the balance to collections) or keep your account and pay interest each month. I am appalled that they get away with this.
I heard CareCredit or GE Money Bank is going out of business. Which means if you sign up with them now, you will be switched over to another bank and possibly have no control over other "changes in terms and conditions". When companies are going out of business they will sometimes do desperate things like this to make some quick money. Please find another way to pay for your medical bills. This is a very shady company.
