We purchased a 2004 Murano on May 28 with the first payment due June 28. We waited for a statement to be sent to home address. No statement ever came. When Capital One was contacted they stated that they hadn't been given the correct address from car dealership. (Which was no fault of ours and we had attempted to contact them by internet without success). They had a collection company contact me at work.
A money order was immediately sent on July 2. No monthly statement accompanied money order because we hadn't received a statement, but at least we were able to put the account number that Capital One provided.
As of today, July 16, Capital One is claiming, by way of letters and phone calls via a collection agency that they have not received the payment in Long Beach, CA. My husband contacted the money order company yesterday, July 15 and the money orders have not been cashed yet... So it's still out there somewhere.
Capital One has at this point charged us a $28.91 late fee, (even though payment wasn't mailed late), and the total amount due for this month is now $1,185.69. What a RIP-OFF!
