I had my 2011 tax return deposited on my husbands card. I am not actually on this card, but since we did it last year with no problem, we didn't think anything of it.
A few days after the direct deposit, Walmart proceeded to put a block on the account, they said to verify that I meant to do that. Twice we faxed the documents they asked for. Five times we were lied to saying some action would take place (usually a phone call is promised). Nothing ever happens.
As of this writing, they have once again promised to call me within 2 business days. As it is a holiday weekend, that means no phone call until at least Wednesday. I'm sure if I even get a call (seriously doubt it), all they will say is that I have to keep waiting my 10 business days. What with the weekends and holiday, I may get my money on the 28th of this month (3 weeks after I discovered the block). I doubt it
If they had contacted us before the block was put on, we all could've have straightened it out easily. As it is now, my money is being held hostage by Wal-mart, why do they need it? Don't they have enough of their own? Like all the 99%, I actually needed my money when I did the taxes, now I am in a world of hurt. Do I have any other recourse?
