My 16 year old daughter gets a card in the mail. She calls the phone number on the sticker to cancel it.instead, it activates it. Unknown to her, they take $199.99 out of her bank account. Not once, but twice!
So, she calls and is told the $400 is non refundable. She's told this by "Mario". Mario doesn't know what CCA stands for. She says this is wrong, and that she's a minor. They ask her to prove it. She faxes her birth certificate. They, of course, don't know that it has been faxed and say, "We'll have to call you back."
I get on the phone. The CSR is Sharie, #7360. She says her supervisor is David, #7284. She's very nasty saying my daughter is the fruad perp by lying to them about her age. I asked my daughter, what did you tell them. She said, "They asked, 'Are you over 18?', and I said unh-unh."
Then, Sharie tries to tell me a "verbal" over the phone is a legal binding contract. I asked for a copy of the contract bearing my daugther's signature stating she was over 18. They don't have it. I asked to hear the tape recording. They don't have it.
These are the biggest crooks I've ever come across. I encourage anyone dealing with them to file a complaint with www.ftc. Gov.
