In August/September I received several phone calls from this company. I did not answer them except the last one to see what it was about. I found out later it was Matt from Alliance One. He said the issue was a delinquent account for my daughter's credit card.
I asked him how much it was; he said it $2353.00. He then asked if I would like to help out my daughter with a payment. I agreed to help and gave him my credit card number and told him I wanted to pay the whole thing off.
On September 27, my account was debited for the above amount. I told my daughter what I had done, but she never said anything to me regarding her account status after that.
I continued to get calls from BankCard Services. I answered one call and asked the lady what the problem was. She said my daughter owed $5000.00 dollars on the subject card. I told her I had made a payoff payment in September and explained what had happened with Alliance One. She said something to the effect: "Oh my, they are not supposed to do that".
My daughter found a number for Matt of Alliance One and I called him. He told me the money had been credited to another credit card and not my daughter's. He commented that this had never happened to him before and was going to talk to his supervisor. He stated the debt had been sold to Arrow Financial and the problem was out of his hands. I talked to his Supervisor, Rene Callaway, 888-647-2819, who said it was too late to do anything about this because I waited too long to report the problem.
Does anyone know how I can get this money credited to my daughter's debt instead of some unknown person's debt (if that really happened)?
