In nov I was contacted by a representative Mr Peter Lorimar from an American firm named: Tulip Partners Inc situated in Philadelphia USA.
He said that his company was interested to buy my shares in a certain american company. The price was very tempting.
But I had to pay a premium so the restriction could be
lifted from my shares. When I had paid the money, around
$14000, they didnt contact me for about a month.
Then another man called from the same company, Mr Edward
Dalton. He said that because my shares were bought
outside USA, I had no tax-number, but if I paid something
they called: Backup Withholding Tax (31%) the authority
could give me a tax number in a week.
But now I became suspicious and I also found some
warning notes on Internet where Tulip Partners were
mentioned. I told them that I didnt want to go further
in this affair and that I wanted my money back.
Since then I have tried to contact the company by phone,
fax and e-mail but no good. I have sent complaints to SEC but so far nothing has happened.
