Ocwen FSB ripoff bogus late charges lawyer fees drive by inspection fees forced hazard insurance fees

Ocwen Federal State Bank bought by mortgage from HUD in 1997. I had received notice from HUD that my mortgage was being sold and would receive a letter from Ocwen letting me know where to send my payments. I never received that letter so I continued to send my payments to HUD. Three months later I received a letter from Ocwen that they were starting forcloser proceedings on my home.

When I contacted Ocwen about this letter, the people there were very rude and insisted that I had to catch up the payments for three months that I had already sent to HUD. They insisted that I make a down payment on a forbarence agreement of $2400.00 and increase my payment from $373.00 per month to $800.00 per month to pay off an interest arreage on the house. After a long hard fight and getting HUD involved I finally ended up having to pay $600.00 per month. I noticed on my statement that after a year of doing this the amount never seemed to change.

Again, I started looking into it and they had added all kinds of late fees, lawyer fees, hazard insurance fees, property inspection and evaluation fees, and misc charges (whatever that is).

When I questioned them on these fees, again they were very rude and insisted that it is perfectally legal for them to charge me late fees because of the interest arreage. The property inspection fees are to have someone drive by and make sure I have not abandoned the home ($200.00 a pop). They also were double insuring my home. They have yet to come up with an answer on what the misc charges are on my statement.

I have tried to refinance my home just to get away from this company and no one will touch it because of what they have put on my credit record. I also cannot get a payoff amount that makes sense from them.

I assumed this loan in 1992. The original loan was for $43,000. When I assumed the loan, $38,000 was left on the loan. It has been 11 years and the last figure I got from Ocwen said I owed $47,000. How is this possible?

My life has been a living hell every since Ocwen bought my mortgage. Does anyone out there know what I can do to stop them? I am running out of resources and the energy to fight with them anymore.
