Our experience with Ocwen Federal Bank goes as follows:
We purchased our home on July 22 and Grren Point Mortgage was the mortgage company whom we had our mortgage with.in October our mortgage was transferred to Ocwen Federal Bank and we were never notified about the transfer so I called Green Point Mortgage. Anyway the nightmare began with Ocwen. I had send them my October, November and December payments and they were retuened to me because they could not find our mortgage account number. Then after fighting with them for months they found my account number and now was 3 months late.
They began charging me with late fees, inspection report, and escrow fees. After that we paid them up to date including all the late fees, escrow fees and inspection report too! For a while there I thought we were doing good and then I received a letter from Ocwen (July) asking me for my homeowners insurance policy so I had faxed over to them and still no good enough. They went ahead and purchased homeowners insurance on their behalf and they charged me $940.00 for a whole and when I told them I already had insurance they did not want to hear about it.
From there they told me that they were going to forclose on my house because I was not making my monthly mortgage payment and we know that was not true. When I received my monthly statement I saw that they had charged me so many different fees that my mortgage went up about $100.00 more than I was paying already. Our mortgage went so high that I could not afford to pay it any more so I had to file Bankruptcy Chapter 13 so that I can save my home from being forclosed. And now I still get harrassed from Ocwen all the time for payment and late fees.
