GoTec rep. Enrique called me in late Feb/early Mar and explained I was preapproved for a Visa Care of $5,000. He said there would be a one time charge for this card of $189.90 and I would not have to pay any other annual fees or penaltese for the life of the card. I also spoke to his supervisor, Raymond, to verify.
He said this amount plus handling fees totalling 219.90 would be deleted from my account on 15-16 Mar 04. I explained that I was interested but would not be able to afford to do this until late April. He said no problem, to call their office and request delay. He also tried to sell me a phone package, which I
declined.
The 15th of March fell on a Monday and I was not able to reach them over the weekend. When I finally got through to their toll free number before close of buss day, the money had been taken. The clerk who anwered the phone said she could not help me and that Enqriqe and Raymond did not even work at her site.
My bank could not help me as the money wasalready gone. I could not put a stop payment on it. Now I have a withdrawl of $59.00 from "ProPlan" which I found out about today. Both of these transactions have put my acct in a negative balance. I am pretty sure ProPlan is the phone service I declined. I am furious at the trouble this has caused.
