I have been a member of Gold's GYM since mid-July. I signed up for ONE
month with a personal trainer, I signed a contract in which the gym
representative told me was good for one to three months and that I could
cancel at any time. I called at the end of July to cancel, they told me
I had to give a 30-day notice. I did not know that. I paid again for
August ($140) and gave my 30-day written cancellation request to Gold's
gym custom built personal training corporate office. Cindy, a custom
built representative contacted me and told me they would gladly cancel
my membership once a $250 fee would be given. This was new information
as well. I have now contacted the corporate office and told them I will
cancel and give them the $250 this week. They then told me that I owe
them another $140 for September. They said that this is because I did
NOT give my $250 with my 30-day cancellation request. I was never told I
had to do that either. All in all, they will have charged me over $700
dollars throughout this whole process for a service I only used for ONE
month, and that I only signed up for ONE month.
