I canceled my membership after fulfilling a year long contract with a Gold's Gym here in Austin (the one in Lincoln Village) back in April. I got the cancellation confirmation and everything. I went months without getting a charge from Gold's when on August 14 I was charged my old membership fee of $41.12. I called the center in Lincoln Village who immediately handed me off to corporate. I called corporate, spoke to a Vanessa Salinas, and it was confirmed that they indeed made a mistake charging me. I also told her to take my info out of their system so this wouldn't happen again; I was told that they at least did that (we shall see).
So I gave proof that the charges went through, they say they were wrong - but no refund. I'm having to jump through hoops to get money they stole from me because they have to "get authorization from the billing department". They surely took my money with a quickness, but now expect me to wait for them to give it back. I'm not having it - I've filled a BBB report, and encourage everyone else who's had to put up with B.S. From Gold's to do the same. I will call them, email, whatever I have to do everyday until that $41.12 is back into my bank account.
