I was stunned when I checked my bank statement this morning. I found an unauthorized charge of $79.95. I received nothing for this charge. My husband had received a free credit report from Citibank, and I thought I was doing the same thing. I got no report and the above-mentioned charge.
I tried to e-mail the company, but the correspondence wouldn't go through. I'm going to my bank to close/re-open a new account and fill out a bank-authorized form for this unauthorized debit of $79.95. This is a complete mess.
These companies are taking advantage of those of us re-establishing credit.
