A lawsuit was filed in United States District Court today (Index #11-CIV-1543) against The Allstate Corp. And one of its Atlanta based agents, Bryan Harris, by Tyrone Holmes for Samuel's Temple, a Harlem, N.Y. Based church. The Complaint alleges that Mr. Harris used his status and office as an Allstate Agent to defraud Samuel's Temple out of over $500,000.00 via a series of fraudulent investments, deceptive real estate transactions and other ruses, and that Allstate knew or had reason to know that Agent Harris was involved n fraudulent business practices committed while representing himself as an Allstate Agent.
According to Tyrone Holmes, Executive Pastor of Samuel's Temple explains "Mr. Harris and I cultivated a fourteen year friendship, and after gaining my confidence as an Insurance Agent for Allstate, he induced me to wire him over $500,000.00 that he said he would use to purchase Allstate Securities, Derivatives and Atlanta properties for the church which would serve as its Southern base of operations, set up a business which I would co-own and for which I would serve as CEO and President of Creative Services and purchase life insurance policies for the church family.
