We applied to Arbor Mortgage for a Home Equity Loan; they said they write them. After giving them $375.00 they sent an appraiser to our house. They have been telling us we would close, on four different occasions. Claim the financer is Wells Fargo. I finally decided to find out what was going on. Talked with RJ Kistka, company owner this morning before noon; said he would call me right back as soon as he found out what was going on, it is now after 6:00 pm and he still hasn't called me back.
I had asked the loan officer at least 4 times for a copy of my home's appraisal. Never came. Finally today I talked with a co-worker of his and it was sent immediately via internet.
I finally decided to let them know that if we didn't close tomorrow, that we would be finding a new mortgage company to deal with. I was told we would close tomorrow at 5:00 pm.
Don't feel that I can trust them. I talked with Wells Fargo this afternoon, direct. The gal told me we weren't even in their system, nor do they have Home Equity Loans. She cautioned me to be very careful because Arbor was probably nothing more than a mortgage broker.
Anybody else have words of wisdom for me, I would like to hear them before 5:00 tomorrow.
