Wells Fargo Home Mortgage has taken fraud to a new level...
We purchased a home last year. Since we were transferring equity from a prior home, our mortgage was relatively small. Within days after the purchase, we were informed that the mortgage had been sold to Wells Fargo Home Mortgage.
After approximately one year, we received proceeds from the sale of another property, and attempted to pay off the remainder of the mortgage with Wells Fargo. The company claims that, even with the mortgage paid off in-full (100%), that Wells Fargo retains the rights and control over all aspects of the property "in perpetuity". The company refuses to meet with us and will not respond to correspondence.
