I had a First Consumers National Bank MasterCard.in August the balance was paid in full through a settlement FCNB entered into and agreed too. I sent them a money order for $532.00 and then never heard back from them again.
After serveral months of not hearing from them I naturally assumed that everything concerning my account had been taken care of.
Now, over a year after I paid off my credit card I am being contacted by a collection agency that is stating that I still owe money on an account that was paid off and closed out.
I have been trying to contact FBNC to get a letter stating that my account was closed out in good standing, however FCNB is impossible to get in contact with.
I called directory assistance and was told that there is no listing for them in Beaverton Oregon any longer—Their 1-800 number has changed it's format and unless you know your credit card number there is no option to speak with a representitive.
I have sent numerous letters to the address I have for their processing center, but I have never received a response back.
What can I do???
This company screwed me and unless I can contact them I am going to end up paying this bill twice. I feel so ripped off.
