Ripoffs closed, paid accounts

MY account with fcnb was closed and referred to a collecton agency. Ecc management received this account on 8/22/97. I made arrangement to pay this account on 12/11/97 by speaking with a representative of Ecc management. I assumed this debt would be satisfied.

On 2/10/98 I was infomed by fcnb that they opened a CLOSED account again stating that $170.07 worth of purchases were made! How can purchases be made on a closed account that was sent to a collection agency. THAT DOES NOT SOUND CORRECT!!!

Of course I dusputed this with fcnb because I was not going to pay this account again when I had already paid this account. They in turn sent this account to 3 other collection agencies all with 3 different balances shown. I was even informed by one of the agencies to write a dispute letter to fcnb because after explaining my situation to her she felt this sounded fishy.

I wrote my dispute letter to fcnb on 3/15/99 and I have yet to hear a respone from them and today's date is 8/23/03 (4 YERARS!!!) you cant even speak with a person if you attempt to call, you only get a recording. They have been reporting on my credit report that this account was 180 days late with a balance due. They can report LIES on my credit report but cant seem to respond to my dispute letter I wrote 4 years ago. I would not advise to have any business dealings with fcnb!!!
