I received a letter today with a check for $3575 enclosed. I was told to call before I deposited the check. I called and a Frank Williams answered the phone and asked for claim number 2715. I was then told the check was good for depositing and to call back once I did it.
I went to deposit the check in the bank, the cashier had given me my deposit slip; but before I left the bank the Lord cautioned me to put a hold on my account. I started talking with the lady at the bank and she asked why the hold on my account. I explained to her about the check she asked to read the letter. It was a hoax! I asked for the check back and took it to the bank written on the check and they couldn't cash it. I went to a third bank and the teller called the Data Bank Systems and ran the routing and account number listed on the check. There was no such account.
