I have a home mortgage on a house that I built in 1997. My mortgage was with Principal Residential until it was bought a few years back by Citimortgage. Immediately our payments went up, which we were able to afford still but due to my having to change jobs and my husband's hours being cut we have gone through all of our savings just trying to keep up the payments... Then in yes I started the modification process with Citi... Needless to say, we have been denied for the HAMP program. I have a credit counselor with CCCS who has stepped in to assist me and I am now trying to have Citi look at the loan for any other kind of modification... If not, Citi wants to short sale my home... This is outrageous, they will not work with you, they don't know what they are doing, the customer service is non-existant and you can't understand the people that you are talking to.
I believe that Citimortgage is utilizing misleading, deceptive and predatory lending practices. Does anyone out there know how I could refinance with someone other than Citi even though the mortgage shows us behind due to all the charges and fines they have tacked on to my loan? I was never behind on a payment in my life until Citi got ahold of my mortgage, thanks for nothing.
