Bank of America
Closed my account when I was a victim of fraud

I deposited a check I recieved in a letter from "Readers Digest" claiming I had won a sweepstakes, well, the sweepstakes turned out to be a scam. Before I knew this though, the bank put a hold on the check, I wondered why so I went to the bank and talked to the manager, showed him the letter I recieved, he informed me that this was a scam, he had just had another person with the same letter come in. So I told him to stop the check, he called corporate, explained the situation to them so they would know what happened. They closed my account anyway saying "I put the bank in jepordy, I had money in my account that I couldn't get to, they said they would mail it in 10 days. After 15 days I called them and they said I was negative, they charged me $175.00 for a research fee (research what? If they did any research they would've know I was a victim of fraud). I think it was wrong to be treated like a criminal, my account didn't have any negative activities on it and they proceeded to handle it in that manner...
