Reader's Digest Inc., Ben Hainsworth, Reader's Digest Sweepstakes
Sweepstakes Fraud by "Readers Digest"

I recently recieved a letter from Ben Hainsworth claiming to be from Reader's Digest Inc. The letter read of how I was selected as a winner in their lotto/powerball draw.included was a partial check of 375,000.00 in which the rest would be sent upon verification that I deposited the check sent with the letter which was 3,900.88. Being suspicious of money given to me for a contest I never entered I took the check to my bank to verify its legitimicy. The contact phone number for me to call was Canadian 1-778-551-0405, and when answered they do not say Readers Digest. Anyway the bank ran it through their security, said check is not only bad but false, and sent it to FBI. My bank officer said the strategy for these frauders, is to get you to deposit check, then call them back.

At this point they say you cannot recieve the lump sum until you pay for Canadian royalty taxes, for which they have paid. They want you to send them a check at which point your lump sum will be mailed. Long story short they get your good check, the check they send was never good, and the lump never shows up. And now they have your checking account number. Read this and pass it on!
