Paid off the debt to NCA but i am in collection of same debt by different company!

I paid of a collection debt i owed to NCA back in 2006. However, just a few weeks ago i am getting a letter from Weinstein & Riley firm saying that i owe them 1000 dollars more that the debt that i paid off. What are my rights? How and what do i have to do to show this new agency that i have already paid off this debt to NCA.

Please anyone out that can you please help. I already paid $1368.16 does not seem fair that i would have to pay again and more. They are trying to collect $ 2604.02.
