I had a debt that I was paying off to another agency when I got a letter from VWA. They agreed to honor the debt, from the previous agency, as long as I had the debt paid within the original 90 days. I re-routed the payments to VWA. I had sent the amount owed except $25. I had to do a check over the phone to finish the debt off.
Once the debt was paid I was told that I would receive a confirmation letter about debt paid in full. I was told at least 3 times that the debt was paid. I waited and I am still waiting. That has been 3 years now! I have another agency that has bought the debt and they are calling!
I tried to inform the last agency that I had paid the debt. But, unless I have a confirmation letter, they said that the debt is still owed!
