I had two credit cards with CAPTIOL ONE. Bolth of them with a limit of $200.00 MAX LIMIT. I had a service over the inernet with Earth Link, a company that works with Captiol One. When I cancled my service with Earth Link, I was near my limit with Capitol One on one of my cards. My other card was just under it's limit. THIS IS WHERE IT GET'S GOOD! I made a minium payment on the first one the other was not due yet. When I get my next month statement bolth at the same time the first card was over drawn. A that time I wasn't sure why yet so I made a payment to bring it below the $200.00 max limit not haveing enought to make a payment on second card. I called them that day requesting the first card account be closed so that no more charges would be made on that card. They agreed to do so. The next month statement comes, they did not close that account and there was more charges that I did not athorize, when I called them to find out why it's not closed and how come there was more charges, THEY SAID, "THEY CAN'T CLOSE A ACCOUNT THAT HAS AN OUTSTANDING BLANCE AND THEY CAN'T UNDERSTAND WHY SOMEONE WOULD TELL ME IT WOULD BE CLOSED". Next i asked them how an account that i can not charge even $1 over my limit, have charges more than $30.00 over my limit of $200.00"that i did not athorize? I asked who made these charges, they said, " they did not know at this time but if i wanted to make a payment at this time i could do so" meen while. I have the the other card that is now over the limit. And the card that should have been closed was at$200.00 $30.00 $25.00 over the limit fee a total for that card now $255.00. Idid not want to make apayment at that time because I did not who made the charges on it. The next bill comes. Guess what earth link "who i canceled service with" is the unknowen charge! Now i owe $255.00 $39.95 earth link $25.00 over the limit charge now the first card is at $319.95 i call them asking help to stop the charges they say "they can not close the account ican make a pay ment at this time if i don't want to be charged any more late fees"! I still could not stop earth link from making more charges becuse at that time they did not have that information and all she could do was take a payment. Not knowing how to stop this from getting any worse. I made another call to CAPITOL ONE this time to tell them my cards where missing, and may have ben stolen. HA, I stopped EARTH LINK. Good? Yes. BUT at that time they said they"could not issue any new card because i had a out standing balanence. Yes perfict! For now. Next month the bill comes here is the best part i somehow had a combind bill of the two cards and a new card and number witch i never saw or agreed to. It too had an outstanding balanence of some outragous amount i could never possoiably payoff and also was being charged over the limit fees. When I asked how they could do this? YES thats right they did not have this information at that time, but they where willing to offer me a settelment agreement of payments I couldn't possably be able to pay. Finaly weeks later after talking to about 15 different people who me and my wife talked to. We came to an agreement of a pay ment now and 3 more payments. Split into 3 months also they agreed to not to charge me anymore over the limit fees. But they need an account number to do an automatic withdrawal each month, and some how the cards some became seprate cards (bills) again and the agreement did not include the secound card. They took the money from the account. I just got a bill today in the mail.$758.28 due with a minimum amount due of $558.28. On it it says for purchases of $748.94 $14.88 finance charge, now thets look at this748.94 14.88=763.82 not $758.28 thes totals do not match. Every time prior to the agreement me or my wife talked to captiol one we also got different $ totals. Every time!
