I paid off my credit card debt on 11/14/09 and had zero balance. I had closed this account in May because I opted out of paying a higher annual percentage rate. On 12/01/09 Capital One processed a check that I had stopped payment on because it was lost in the mail. They were the ones who advised me to stop payment and reissue an electronic payment from my bank. Which I did. Now, they have put my check in as a charge and want me to pay them (my money) back with interest.
