I will be 60 years old this coming year. I have saved my entire life to be able to afford my own home. This past year the good graces of the lord were granted to me an my only child had her first child. A grandchild at last. As relationships go things did not go her way and her and the young baby moved in with me as the father and her just couldn"t get it worked out. I've been saving my whole life to buy a now was the time to do it!!! So long story short I get prequalifed from Euro Mortgage supply all my financial information and get a letter faxed to me. I should have know at that very second soemthing was wrong ad this might sound silly but, the letter has typo's on it and for lack of a better word was cheap looking. But nonetheless I pushed on. I looked at homes me my daughter and grandchild found the perfect home. What a joyful day that was.- Had I know the pain it would later cause I may have tried to relish in it longer than I actually did. I put an offer on the house and they accept at once. So we sign a contract and put 5% of the price of the home down with the sellers attorney as a deposit. The contract set a closing date for 60 days from when we signed. It did have a back door that my attorney said was very smart for the protection of my money. It said I must produce a committment letter from the bank within 30 days or cancel the transaction or else risk losing my down payment money. Long story short 30 days comes and goes and everyday Euro is telling me the committment is just a formality this and that don"t worry your fine. Against my bettter judgement I went along. Fast forward it's now past the 60 days to close I'm getting threatening calls from everyone under the sun so I intern finally get nasty and demand some answers. First I speak with Lisa Vitale who basically laughed me off the phone and hung up on me. Than the following day After placing 60 calls in a row I get Sal Pane on the phone who seems very nice though hard to understand but listens to my tale of woe. He calls me back the next day and says the reason I haven"t recieved information back is the loan officer left the company and he may have stolen my file. WHAT? Again long story short he finds the file tells me he has to make some changes and i know how to put an additional 5% down. Which i of course don"t have. He says to call the seller ask if they will give me a silient second mortgage. (still not sure i'm saying that right) nothing silient about having to get another mortgage. The sellers attorney declines and says they are keeping my down payment and said Euro has done this in the past it is hopless to keep working with them. They moved on and relisted my dream home and kept my money because my bank didn"t live up to it's obligation for the loan. Had they produced the committment letter I'd have a leg to stand on but because they assured me that itwas just a formality I'm out my life savings and the three of us are forever stuck in this one bedroom apt. I have a heart and will not say to many bad things but they laughed at me and hung up and have people working for them that steal the files??? Crazy if you ask me. Stay away from this local bank. They have no heart are very small potatoes as far as a bank i've come to find out.in the end I wish I would have come to this site first. The forever broken helpless grandmother.: (
