The reason CapitalOne asks, Whats in your wallet? Is so theyknow how much they can take from you. After being charged a ridiculous 29.40% on my last bill I decided to takemy good credit and business elsewhere. I called in to get a final payoff, and paid off the card infull for that day per the agent's payoff amount (which specifically included all charges accrued through that date). I had been offered $100 off my last bill if I paid as agreed, and was told toexpect this money back in the form of a credit which I could then get back as acheck once the account was closed. Imagine my surprise when the next statement showed upshowing that I owed another $88.93, plus showing that theyd given, but thentaken away 3 days later my $100 credit. I called the company for clarification and was told (byagent Angie, ID: PZN056) that there was an error and that I was due a checkback. She also felt I shouldnt have hadthe $100 rescinded incorrectly (since I had done what the bank requested, whichwas to pay off prior to a later date), and had promised to follow up with another department to try and get the credit re-instated. Today, I called in to see the status on the check and wastold by the first agent that it had been sent, he sent me to a second who toldme it had been reduced to $11, and then he sent me to a manager who told methere was no check and that while he felt I was entitled to a refund it wassimply too late since the account was now closed!
He asked that I write a letter to the company rehashing ourcall, and that then they might sendme the refund that I was admittedly due. Are you kidding?!!
