My account was originally with Providian and then was sold to Card Service Center. I did not receive any bills for months and when they called about my payment being late I explained to them I had not been receiving bills. I was they would make sure a bill was sent out to me the following month. I finally received a bill the following month to find out that I had been charged $70 a month for about 5 months for late fees and over the limit fees. I called them explained that I had not been receiving bills and if I had the account wouldn't be over the limit.
I was told to write a letter stating all of this and the account would be adjusted. When I did this their response was that they could not adjust anything because the account was over the limit. I told them if I had been receiving bills it would not be over the limit, the only reason it was over is because of their fees. They refused to do anything.
I wrote the BBB and they contacted them and they still refused to make any adjustments to my account.
Last month I called and made my payment over the phone on the day it was due. I was NEVER told that because it was a Saturday the payment wouldn't be processed until the following Monday.
Today I received my new statement and low and behold they charged me another late fee. I called them and that's when they told me that even though I called it in on the 24th it wasn't processed until the 27th. Once again they refused to do anything until my account is no longer over the limit.
They have charged me over $300 in late fees and over the limit fees UNFAIRLY!!!
I believe they are connected with Emerge another company I have read about on here that doesn't send bills and then charges late fees and over limit fees.
