I too am a victim of FCNB Banks fraudulent billing practices. After I was notified from Spiegel that my store credit card was going to be discontinued, my monthly bills stopped coming.
I've always sent my payments on time. I never had any problems until after Spiegel notified me of their decision. Since around May or June of FCNB has sent me bills for $35 late fees, when all my payments have been on time. I could not find a phone number or email address to contact them. I made photocopies of my cancelled checks and mailed them to the address found on the back of the late fee statement.
I received a letter from them a few days ago stating that because my account was now over the limit (due to them) that they wouldn't do anything until after I payed them $90 to get the balance below the card limit! I'm so mad! I don't know what to do now. I WILL NOT pay any late fees because they choose not to cash my checks for a month after I sent them out.
What do I do? This is crazy. This is fraud.
