I tried to do banking on line, as I dod hundreds of times before today. All of a sudden, when trying to log on to my CITIBANK account on line the user name and password for my bank account was not good enough anymore and a PIN had to be entered, as well as the bank card number??!!
I scrambled to get at the card but realized I did not have a PIN.
No need for a PIN - I do not use the ATM.
I go to my branch (when I am home - I am not there, obviously now)
So, I could not get at my account, do the money transfers needed, set up payments, etc. Major headaches, to spaek nothing of being blocked from my own money!
Now, after calling, India wil MAIL me a PIN.
It means a week at least until I can work with on my account!
The guys and gals at 1 800 374 9700 IN INDIA (this is where CITI has "customer service" were laughing at me. You must have typed a number wrong or mispelled the "security question" they said! So we are keeping you away from your money for your own protection, for a while, say for at least a week.
No warning, no automatic sending of a PIN by mail before implementing such new "security" features, no nothin'.
Just fraudulent banking practices, that is all.
Beware CITIBANK, tactics like thes show they might not be solvent!
